Diamond

I remember the day that you arrived

A little spark of magic in my life

You didn't have it easy from the start

But you immediately captured my whole heart

I looked at you and knew just what to say

A precious name to guide you on your way

You came into this world so strong and tough

My beautiful, sweet diamond in the rough

Oh, Diamond, you're a treasure to my soul

The kind of love that makes my spirit whole

Sometimes you're shy, sometimes you speak your mind

The sweetest granddaughter I could ever find

Through every little thing you say and do

Just always know that Grandma loves you

I love it when you let your silly out

And make me laugh until I want to shout

Sometimes you're quiet, tucked inside your shell

But when you speak your truth, you do it well

Outspoken with that fire in your eyes

You always take me by the best surprise

A multifaceted and brilliant light

You make the heavy days feel so bright

Oh, Diamond, you're a treasure to my soul

The kind of love that makes my spirit whole

Sometimes you're shy, sometimes you speak your mind

The sweetest granddaughter I could ever find

Through every little thing you say and do

Just always know that Grandma loves you

A diamond takes a little time to shine

But every single facet is by design

From the quiet moments to the words you share

Nothing in this world could ever compare

Keep on glowing, keep on standing tall

Grandma is right here to catch you if you fall

Oh, Diamond, you're a treasure to my soul

The kind of love that makes my spirit whole

Sometimes you're shy, sometimes you speak your mind

The sweetest granddaughter I could ever find

Through every little thing you say and do

Just always know that Grandma loves you

Yeah, my diamond in the rough, it's true

Always know that Grandma loves you
