Gabriel

I look back to the days when your story began

So tiny and fragile, just holding my hand

It broke my whole heart seeing you in that bed

But you fought through the dark and you pushed on ahead

You surpassed every hurdle they put in your way

And grew to the wonderful man here today

Oh, Gabriel, you wear a tough outer shell

But you've got a kind soul that I know oh so well

You're sharp as a tack and you're quick to forgive

You bring so much love to the life that we live

There is nothing on earth that your bright mind can't do

And I am so proud to have a son just like you

Sometimes you act like you’re made out of stone

To weather the hard winds that life might have blown

But under the armor, you’re gentle and deep

With the most loving heart that a person could meet

You don't hold a grudge, you just let the hurt go

You're a brilliant young man, and I want you to know

Oh, Gabriel, you wear a tough outer shell

But you've got a kind soul that I know oh so well

You're sharp as a tack and you're quick to forgive

You bring so much love to the life that we live

There is nothing on earth that your bright mind can't do

And I am so proud to have a son just like you

You can accomplish whatever you choose

With a mind like yours, you are never gonna lose

You are so special, and deeply loved too

I am so proud to be standing by you

Oh, Gabriel, you wear a tough outer shell

But you've got a kind soul that I know oh so well

You're sharp as a tack and you're quick to forgive

You bring so much love to the life that we live

There is nothing on earth that your bright mind can't do

I am so proud to call you my son, through and through
