Steve

We met down on the river where the water ran clear

Just walking the park, watching time disappear

Every step on the path felt like coming to rest

I looked in your eyes and I knew I was blessed

I didn't know then all the things we would be

But I knew that your heart was a haven for me

Steve, you're the shelter when the world turns cold

I have found the one who loves my soul

You're wise and protective, you hold out your hand

Encouraging me when I don't understand

My spirit is safe and the story unfolds

I have found the one who loves my soul

Whenever I stumble, whenever I doubt

Your gentle encouragement helps me work it out

You carry a wisdom that anchors my mind

Leaving the noise and the worry behind

You stand like a guard at the door of my heart

Keeping me steady when the rough weather starts

Steve, you're the shelter when the world turns cold

I have found the one who loves my soul

You're wise and protective, you hold out your hand

Encouraging me when I don't understand

My spirit is safe and the story unfolds

I have found the one who loves my soul

From that very first walk by the water's edge

To the life we have built and the love that we pledge

You lift up my dreams and you carry my weight

With you by my side, I am never afraid

Steve, you're the shelter when the world turns cold

I have found the one who loves my soul

You're wise and protective, you hold out your hand

Encouraging me when I don't understand

Since we walked by the river, the truth has been told

I have found the one who loves my soul

Yes, I have found the husband who loves my soul
