Donald

I remember the very first day we met

Gathered together in the house of prayer

A church event that I won't forget

Because I felt the Holy Spirit there

You welcomed me with an open door

A brother standing in the light of truth

We shared the Word and so much more

I saw the grace of God alive in you

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever believes will see the Kingdom come

No soul shall perish, but have eternal life

We lift our hands to heaven, stepping into the light

Oh Donald, we are standing on the promise He made

Forever walking in the love He gave

You build a shelter for the ones you love

Fiercely loyal to your family and friends

You draw your strength from the Lord above

A helping hand on which the church depends

Whenever there is a need, you're the first in line

Serving the body with a humble heart

You let the glory of the Savior shine

In every single way you do your part

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever believes will see the Kingdom come

No soul shall perish, but have eternal life

We lift our hands to heaven, stepping into the light

Oh Donald, we are standing on the promise He made

Forever walking in the love He gave

It is a beautiful thing to call you my friend

To walk this road of faith side by side

From the very first day to the journey’s end

We keep the cross of Jesus as our guide

His Word is a lamp, His grace is the key

John 3:16 is the truth that sets us free

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever believes will see the Kingdom come

No soul shall perish, but have eternal life

We lift our hands to heaven, stepping into the light

Oh Donald, we are standing on the promise He made

Forever walking in the love He gave

Yes, forever walking in the love He gave
