Noel

Thirty years ago, we were only friends

Talking while the midnight hours slipped away

We'd stay awake and paint the future in our minds

Wondering where we'd be when we grew older someday

I never thought the one who listened in the dark

Would be the very one to hold my heart

Oh, Noel, you are my forever love

Twenty-five years of a promise kept so true

You're my steady anchor and my closest friend

I am living out the dream with you

With every patient word and every laugh we share

I see the answer to a whispered prayer

Look at all the beautiful life that we have built

Four amazing children growing in the light

And a precious granddaughter to hold in our arms

Your loving sense of humor makes the shadows bright

You're always there to help, you're always standing by

The most loyal soul beneath the open sky

Oh, Noel, you are my forever love

Twenty-five years of a promise kept so true

You're my steady anchor and my closest friend

I am living out the dream with you

With every patient word and every laugh we share

I see the answer to a whispered prayer

We were just dreaming of what life could be

Never knowing grace was writing out our story

All those late-night hopes we cast into the air

Are standing right in front of us in all their glory

Through every passing season, you're my solid ground

The greatest earthly blessing I have ever found

Oh, Noel, you are my forever love

Twenty-five years of a promise kept so true

You're my steady anchor and my closest friend

I am living out the dream with you

With every patient word and every laugh we share

I see the answer to a whispered prayer

Yes, Noel, you are my forever love
