Dominique

You came to this world in a cold winter storm

But the moment I held you, my spirit was warm

I think of those days we went out just to eat

And how you were marching to your very own beat

We’d watch the TV and you'd let out a roar

Laughing so hard you fell right on the floor

God gave me a treasure the day you were born

My sweet Dominique, shining bright through the storm

So be encouraged, my son, when the journey gets long

With God on your side, you will always be strong

Like Psalm chapter three, verses five and six say

The Lord will sustain you when waking each day

Don't fear the thousands that stand in your view

Dominique, I'm so grateful God blessed me with you

A natural leader, a helper so kind

With a heart for the children, so gentle and fine

You march to a rhythm that's yours and yours only

A light in the dark for the tired and lonely

I smile when I think of the keys to my car

You and your friends driving out under the stars

I watched you grow up into all you could be

And I thank the Lord for the good man I see

So be encouraged, my son, when the journey gets long

With God on your side, you will always be strong

Like Psalm chapter three, verses five and six say

The Lord will sustain you when waking each day

Don't fear the thousands that stand in your view

Dominique, I'm so grateful God blessed me with you

No matter the struggles, no matter the test

You lay every weight of life down and are blessed

You've pushed forward daily and you've persevered

Through all of the trials that ever appeared

You can make it through anything, just keep the faith

Resting secure in His infinite grace

So be encouraged, my son, when the journey gets long

With God on your side, you will always be strong

Like Psalm chapter three, verses five and six say

The Lord will sustain you when waking each day

Don't fear the thousands that stand in your view

Dominique, I'm so grateful God blessed me with you
