Shelly

Amidst all the noise on the factory floor

I didn't know what I was clocking in for

Just trying to make it to the end of the shift

I had no idea I'd be getting a gift

You smiled at me, Shelly, and the heavy days passed

We started a friendship that was built to last

'Cause you're patient, you're loving, you give all you can

A wonderful soul with a comforting hand

I look at the beauty that friendship provides

And I thank the good Lord He put you in our lives

Yeah, Shelly, you're a light shining steady and bright

Now we trade in the work for the living room couch

Where there's never a worry and never a doubt

We turn on the TV to our favorite shows

And where the time flies, well, heaven just knows

We're sharing our stories and laughing out loud

Just having you near makes my spirit so proud

'Cause you're patient, you're loving, you give all you can

A wonderful soul with a comforting hand

I look at the beauty that friendship provides

And I thank the good Lord He put you in our lives

Yeah, Shelly, you're a light shining steady and bright

When the world gets too heavy, you know how to care

Whenever we need you, you're already there

It's rare in this life to find someone so true

We asked for a friend, and the Lord gave us you

'Cause you're patient, you're loving, you give all you can

A wonderful soul with a comforting hand

I look at the beauty that friendship provides

And I thank the good Lord He put you in our lives

Oh, I thank the good Lord He put you in our lives

Shelly, you're a blessing, we'll hold onto tight
