I’ve been walking down a long and heavy road

But I’m patient and I’m funny, and I let the spirit lead

From an Associates to a Bachelor's, I kept pressing on

Through two Master's degrees, my faith has kept me strong

Next month at Grace International, I'll finally wear the gown

Receiving my Doctorate, with heaven looking down

And my Dad, my Superman, will be standing in the crowd

He’s been at every graduation, and he's still showing up proud.

Oh, I never give up, no matter how hard it gets

God gave me a resilient heart that hasn't broken yet

Like the Word says in Esther, chapter four, verse fourteen

I am stepping out on faith into the places unseen

Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for this?

I am standing right here for such a time as this.

I’m an ordained minister, preaching from the soul

But I had to survive the dark before the Lord made me whole

I told my story of survival, breaking every chain

At Anthony’s Spiritual Bootcamp, stepping out of the pain

In two thousand eighteen, I let the truth be known

By nineteen I was published, a seed of triumph sown

I'm an associate pastor now, standing in the grace

Running with resilience, and keeping up the pace.

When my mama passed away, it opened up my eyes

It changed my whole perspective on the love we have to give

Showed me how to cherish every moment that we live

So I cared for brother Anthony, gave him all my strength and faith

In twenty twenty-three, when he finished up his race

I preached at his memorial, with tears upon my face

Trusting in the Lord to wrap our family in His grace.
