Betsy

Beautiful right from the day you were born

A trooper through hospitals, weathering the storm

Smart and so talented, right from the start

With a fierce kind of love beating deep in your heart

You care for us all in the ways that you do

My wonderful daughter, my Betsy Marysue.

Oh, Betsy Marysue, with your storybook name

You protect this whole family through sunshine and rain

You wear your heartache right there on your sleeve

The most giving and caring that I could believe

I love you my daughter, so tender and true

My beautiful Betsy Marysue.

You were Daddy’s race car driver, taking the wheel

Keeping his memory alive and so real

Looking for UFOs up in the dark sky

With a scratch-off to play and the Lions nearby

You honor the past with a love that won't fade

I'm so proud of the beautiful woman you've made.

Oh, Betsy Marysue, with your storybook name

You protect this whole family through sunshine and rain

You wear your heartache right there on your sleeve

The most giving and caring that I could believe

I love you my daughter, so tender and true

My beautiful Betsy Marysue.

We share a deep love for the crafts that we make

And that halo at Christmas you wear for my sake

Since you were a baby just learning to talk

You've loved our family "Doomalosh" over goulash

These are the memories I hold in my mind

A bond like we have is so special to find.

Never forget your admirers who say

Your storybook name brings a smile to their day

It makes them think of a beautiful tale

Of a girl with a spirit that never will fail

You're a gift to this world, shining bright as a star

And I want you to know just how cherished you are.

Oh, Betsy Marysue, with your storybook name

You protect this whole family through sunshine and rain

You wear your heartache right there on your sleeve

The most giving and caring that I could believe

I love you my daughter, forever and true

X-O-X-O from Mom, to my Betsy Marysue.
