Denny

It started in two thousand ten, the day my whole world changed

Found a handsome, smart man, and the stars rearranged

By twenty-sixteen, we were making our vows

You're the rock of this family, the man of the house

Five kids grown up, seven grandkids to hold

With a patient, caring heart that never gets old

Denny, you're the laughter, you're the steady and the strong

The one I want beside me when the days get long

Through the chaos and the quiet, you're the one I'm looking for

And no matter what you tell me, honey, I love you more

We've got Max and Gizmo running right around our feet

Every moment with the family makes this life complete

Sitting by the pit fire, watching embers glow

Or taking a long float trip where the river waters flow

You're the funny, loving husband who can always make me smile

I'd ride down any river with you for a million miles

Denny, you're the laughter, you're the steady and the strong

The one I want beside me when the days get long

Through the chaos and the quiet, you're the one I'm looking for

And no matter what you tell me, honey, I love you more

I remember that ice storm, sliding out of control

Hit the black ice, going off the embankment in the cold

But you held the wheel steady, yeah, you kept us all safe

I'll trust you with my life, babe, every single day

I'll love you through the snoring that shakes up the room

And the farts that try to clear it out a little too soon

You're my funny, loving partner, the one I adore

Every single passing year, I just love you more

Denny, you're the laughter, you're the steady and the strong

The one I want beside me when the days get long

Through the chaos and the quiet, you're the one I'm looking for

And no matter what you tell me, honey, I love you more

Yeah, from the pit fires to the black ice, I love you more
