Ashley

My firstborn child, my very best friend

A bond that began and will never end

I look at the woman you've grown up to be

And I marvel at all of the beauty I see

You carry a warmth wherever you go

With a loving heart that continues to grow

You have a warrior spirit when the shadows fall

Rising above the darkness, standing tall

You never give up on the family you love

Guided by grace from the heavens above

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

And that's why He gave me you, Ashley

To your brother and sister, a guiding light

Holding them close through the longest night

To your own little girl, you're a mother so true

Showing her exactly what love can do

You fight for your daughter, you weather the storm

Keeping her safe and keeping her warm

You have a warrior spirit when the shadows fall

Rising above the darkness, standing tall

You never give up on the family you love

Guided by grace from the heavens above

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

And that's why He gave me you, Ashley

When the world tries to break you, you refuse to break

You carry the weight for your family's sake

You are gentle and fierce, a beautiful blend

My wonderful daughter, my very best friend

You have a warrior spirit when the shadows fall

Rising above the darkness, standing tall

You never give up on the family you love

Guided by grace from the heavens above

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

And that's why He gave me you, Ashley
