Ray

Ray, you are the steady ground beneath my stumbling feet

A loyal heart, a gentle soul, who makes this life complete

You lead us with a Godly grace, protective and so kind

The most genuine companion that I could ever find

Even when the days get busy and the words get lost

You're the one who holds us down no matter what the cost

I want you to know you are loved, heard, and seen

The safest place that we have ever been

We might do a crappy job of showing what is true

But Ray, we appreciate everything you do

From pterodactyl noises that make us laugh out loud

To smiling through the clumsiness when I am falling down

We've weathered all the heavy, hard times we've had to brave

Anchored by those deep talks and the gentle love you gave

Even when the days get busy and the words get lost

You're the one who holds us down no matter what the cost

I want you to know you are loved, heard, and seen

The safest place that we have ever been

We might do a crappy job of showing what is true

But Ray, we appreciate everything you do

You are a man of faith, standing guard at the door

Every single passing day, I only love you more

Forgive the times we take your quiet strength for granted

You're the very reason that this family's firmly planted

Even when the days get busy and the words get lost

You're the one who holds us down no matter what the cost

I want you to know you are loved, heard, and seen

The safest place that we have ever been

We might do a crappy job of showing what is true

But Ray, we appreciate everything you do

Yeah, Ray, I appreciate everything you do
