Marcus

I watched you step from your younger days

Into a man with such steady ways

From your youth to adulthood, I've seen how you grew

Always present to help, always pulling us through

When family calls or a friend's in a bind

You leave all the rush and the worry behind

Oh Marcus, you're a cool breeze, always gently moving

With every quiet action, it's love that you're proving

Patient and humble, so steady and kind

Leaving a trail of sweet comfort behind

Yeah, you're a cool breeze, setting my spirit at ease

You wear a hat of wisdom, way beyond your years

A calming vibration when trouble appears

You show up for family, you show up for friends

A loving foundation on which life depends

You never ask for glory, you never need the shine

I just look at you, son, and I'm so proud you're mine

Oh Marcus, you're a cool breeze, always gently moving

With every quiet action, it's love that you're proving

Patient and humble, so steady and kind

Leaving a trail of sweet comfort behind

Yeah, you're a cool breeze, setting my spirit at ease

Time keeps on turning, the years hurry past

But the goodness inside you was built out to last

A helping hand reaching whenever we call

You stand in the background, but you hold up us all

Oh Marcus, you're a cool breeze, always gently moving

With every quiet action, it's love that you're proving

Patient and humble, so steady and kind

Leaving a trail of sweet comfort behind

Yeah, you're a cool breeze, gently moving along

Keep blowing sweet, son, you're the heart of my song
