Darrius

My mind was heavy, I was losing my way

Couldn't find the light at the end of the day

Then you reached out and you steadied the pace

Brought a little warmth to a hollow space

Darrius, you saw what nobody could see

You became the peace that was missing in me

You were right there when I needed you most

Caught me in the dark and you pulled me close

Now I’m riding shotgun, watching you drive

Making me feel so beautifully alive

I just want to make sure you hear it from me

I love you, Darrius, you're my everything

Climbing up into that blue truck seat

Leaving behind the noise of the street

They were never just drives, they were something new

Beautiful adventures, just me and you

The hum of the engine, the radio low

As long as I'm with you, I'm ready to go

'Cause you were right there when I needed you most

Caught me in the dark and you pulled me close

Now I’m riding shotgun, watching you drive

Making me feel so beautifully alive

I just want to make sure you hear it from me

I love you, Darrius, you're my everything

You were my calm when my heart was at war

Showed me what a real connection is for

Every single mile that we put on the dash

Is a moment in time that is built to last

Oh, you were right there when I needed you most

Caught me in the dark and you pulled me close

Now I’m riding shotgun, watching you drive

Making me feel so beautifully alive

I just want to make sure you hear it from me

I love you, Darrius, you're my everything
