Carlos

Carlos, the Lord knew exactly what I need

When He gave me your heart to follow and to lead

You have a spirit so loving, so patient and kind

The sweetest devotion that a woman could find

You bring a quiet peace to the start of every day

And I just thank heaven that you looked my way

And you will always be the love of my life

The absolute joy of being your wife

Through all of our seasons, whatever we do

My heart is anchored, Carlos, in you

Yes, you will always be the love of my life

I think of those nights in the back of the truck

Just counting our blessings and trusting our luck

We slept underneath all the stars shining bright

Wrapped up together in the cool of the night

We didn't need riches, just the heavens above

And the deep, tender comfort of your steady love

And you will always be the love of my life

The absolute joy of being your wife

Through all of our seasons, whatever we do

My heart is anchored, Carlos, in you

Yes, you will always be the love of my life

Oh, your kindness is a shelter when the wind starts to blow

Your patience is the grace that helps my spirit grow

I look at you, husband, and my soul testifies

The promise of forever is right in your eyes

Oh, you will always be the love of my life

The absolute joy of being your wife

Through all of our seasons, whatever we do

My heart is anchored, Carlos, in you

Yes, you will always be the love of my life

Now and forever, the love of my life
