Travis

We met in the hallways, so young and so free

Then stood at the altar, just you and me

Through your years in the army, whatever the test

You gave us your all and you gave us your best

You carried the weight with no need for applause

A dedicated heart to a beautiful cause

Travis, you lead with a quiet grace

A gentle protector in every place

Honest and wise, so steady and strong

You are the shelter where we all belong

Cherished by God and adored by your own

The truest love that I've ever known

We blinked and we watched all our children grow tall

Now grandchildren's footsteps run down the hall

But my favorite moments, when everything's still

Are opening the Bible and seeking His will

Reading the verses, just sitting with you

Watching His promises daily come true

Travis, you lead with a quiet grace

A gentle protector in every place

Honest and wise, so steady and strong

You are the shelter where we all belong

Cherished by God and adored by your own

The truest love that I've ever known

You don't need a spotlight to show who you are

Your faith and your family have been your north star

A soldier's brave spirit, a grandfather's smile

I'll walk by your side for every last mile

Travis, you lead with a quiet grace

A gentle protector in every place

Honest and wise, so steady and strong

You are the shelter where we all belong

Cherished by God and adored by your own

The truest love that I've ever known
