Mike

I walked around this world thinking I was doing fine

Thought I knew exactly what was yours and what was mine

But the second that you cried and they laid you on my chest

I realized my heart was beating right there in your breath

I never knew a love could run this deep

Until the day I watched you fall asleep

Oh, Mike, I love you with all of my heart

You’ve been my greatest blessing from the start

Always so patient, so caring and kind

The most helpful spirit that a person could find

I never knew a love this deep and true

Not until the very day I was given you

If somebody needs a hand, you’re the first to volunteer

You bring a steady comfort whenever you are near

And you've got a special language that puts us all at ease

When you start joking round and speaking Ligginese

It brings a little sunshine, a reason to smile

You've always had a soul that goes the extra mile

Oh, Mike, I love you with all of my heart

You’ve been my greatest blessing from the start

Always so patient, so caring and kind

The most helpful spirit that a person could find

I never knew a love this deep and true

Not until the very day I was given you

I look at the person you are today

And I wouldn't have it any other way

You're ready to help, you're steady and strong

I've loved you so fiercely your whole life long

Oh, Mike, I love you with all of my heart

You’ve been my greatest blessing from the start

Always so patient, so caring and kind

The most helpful spirit that a person could find

I never knew a love this deep and true

Not until the very day I was given you

Yeah, I didn't know this love until I met you
