Makenna

I still remember the very first day

When all of my worries just melted away

They placed you right into my arms, safe and sound

The most beautiful blessing that I'd ever found

Makenna, my darling, right from the start

I saw the sweet grace of the Lord in your heart

You are fearfully and wonderfully made

A light in this world that is never to fade

You’re my smart cookie, so tender and true

Love God with all of your heart, like you do

And always remember, my whole life through

I love you, love you, love youuuuu

I think of the silly expressions you'd make

And all of the laughter you leave in your wake

Trying out words with your sassy little style

Saying "Santa Closet" and making me smile

We'd sip on our pink drinks, just two of us girls

The library and parks were our own little worlds

Watching our movies and laughing out loud

Makenna, you constantly make me so proud

You are fearfully and wonderfully made

A light in this world that is never to fade

You’re my smart cookie, so tender and true

Love God with all of your heart, like you do

And always remember, my whole life through

I love you, love you, love youuuuu

You have a kind heart that is eager to care

A sweet, loving spirit you bring everywhere

I saw all the warmth that your young soul can hold

When you first met Evelyn, a sight to behold

The best big sister, so gentle and kind

A more caring daughter, I never could find

So walk in His goodness and trust in His grace

Let Jesus shine through the joy on your face

You're funny and smart, with a soul shining bright

Just keep your eyes fixed on His heavenly light

'Cause you are fearfully and wonderfully made

A light in this world that is never to fade

You’re my smart cookie, so tender and true

Love God with all of your heart, like you do

And always remember, my whole life through

I love you, love you, love youuuuu

Oh, I love you, love you, love youuuuu
