Deon

October seventeen, nineteen ninety-two

That was the day my heart found you

Thirty-four years of a beautiful ride

With a caring and funny man by my side

You're a protective husband, keeping me from harm

I found my safe haven right here in your arms

Deon, you're my anchor when the waters are deep

A promise of love that we both swore to keep

You pick me up every time that I fall

For better or worse, we have weathered it all

And no matter what comes to our front door

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

Look at the family we built from the start

Two beautiful girls who captured our hearts

And one baby boy with those bright blue eyes

A life that we cherish, our greatest prize

You're a special kind of partner, tender and true

I see the grace of God when I look at you

Deon, you're my anchor when the waters are deep

A promise of love that we both swore to keep

You pick me up every time that I fall

For better or worse, we have weathered it all

And no matter what comes to our front door

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

When the years start to blur and the memories fade

You stand by the quiet vows that we made

You're the faithful soul who understands

And you remember when I can't

Deon, you're my anchor when the waters are deep

A promise of love that we both swore to keep

You pick me up every time that I fall

For better or worse, we have weathered it all

Through the fading of time, I am forever yours

And as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord
