Rhonda

My very first grandchild, curled up on my knee

I'd read you a story, you meant the whole world to me

With your great sense of humor and a spirit so bold

I still see that little girl, just three or four years old

Standing beside me in church, looking up in the aisle

Raising your hands to the Lord with a beautiful smile

Oh, Rhonda, you're harder on yourself than anyone I know

You look at your flaws and you let your doubts grow

But I see a beautiful soul, so wonderful and true

And this Grandma is so incredibly proud of you

When the road gets heavy and you don't know what to do

You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you

You held to your vows when the marriage got tough

For Kaelynn, Jaxon, and Addison, your love is enough

Fiercely protective, you cherish the small things instead

You feel others' pain, you've got a wise heart and head

You skipped your own graduation when I was in a hospital bed

"We'll celebrate when you're home and you're better," you said

Oh, Rhonda, you're harder on yourself than anyone I know

You look at your flaws and you let your doubts grow

But I see a beautiful soul, so wonderful and true

And this Grandma is so incredibly proud of you

When the road gets heavy and you don't know what to do

You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you

You laid your small hand on a sick little girl

Said, "Jesus, heal my friend," with a faith that could move the world

You prayed for your sister, asked for Dorothy Gayle

She didn't get the name, but your prayers didn't fail

You've always had a gift for healing the broken and bruised

I pray God gives you the confidence to let that gift be used

Oh, Rhonda, you're harder on yourself than anyone I know

But God's been right with you through the highs and the low

I see a beautiful soul, so wonderful and true

And this Grandma is so incredibly proud of you

When the road gets heavy and you don't know what to do

You can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you

Yes, you can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens you
