david

We were standing outside when it all began

Looking up at the clouds, trying to understand

We talked about the sky and the maker of it all

I didn't know that day how hard I would fall

David, you stepped right into my view

And showed me a love that was steady and true

I thank the Lord He brought us together

A kind-hearted anchor in every weather

You gave me a hope that survived the night

God used your love to save my life

Whatever the future is holding in store

I will be grateful forevermore

I remember you walking right up my street

Just to spend a little time, making life complete

You are strong, you are loyal, you never sway

Consistent and true at the end of the day

In the quiet moments, just sitting with you

I saw the grace that God was working through

I thank the Lord He brought us together

A kind-hearted anchor in every weather

You gave me a hope that survived the night

God used your love to save my life

Whatever the future is holding in store

I will be grateful forevermore

I lift up my hands for the gift that you are

A light in the dark like a guiding star

I don't know the plans that tomorrow will bring

But I have a reason to worship and sing

You showed me a love that I couldn't deny

Since the day that we met and talked about the sky

I thank the Lord He brought us together

A kind-hearted anchor in every weather

You gave me a hope that survived the night

God used your love to save my life

Whatever the future is holding in store

David, I’m grateful forevermore
