Dan

Started at McDonald's, just catching a vibe

Went down to the market, with cooking on our mind

We made our little dish, you put the chili in

I pretended it was sweet, but you saw through my grin

We laughed all day long, you love your spicy food

Turn the rap music up, put us right in the mood

I pray for God's grace when your video games blink

And when you leave your boxers by the kitchen sink

'Cause we walked down the beach to our favorite song

Synesthesia playing as we moved along

We promised through the sickness, the rich and the poor

But I never knew how much you'd be fighting for

Dan, you take the lead when I'm too weak to stand

I'm so blessed to be holding my handsome man's hand

We gave our little girl the middle name Skye

For the first baby angel we lost up high

Sofia is our second, the source of your joy

A precious little blessing for us to enjoy

But giving birth to her left me fragile and weak

Three months in the hospital, the future looked bleak

Spent our anniversary in that sick bed

But you never left my side, just like you said

'Cause we walked down the beach to our favorite song

Synesthesia playing as we moved along

We promised through the sickness, the rich and the poor

But I never knew how much you'd be fighting for

Dan, you take the lead when I'm too weak to stand

I'm so blessed to be holding my handsome man's hand

I love watching you grow in your faith with the Lord

Step by little step, finding strength in His word

Thank you for providing, for the work that you do

Unlimited chicken, dinakdakan, and pork tofu

You might not be tidy, but your courage is bright

You and Sofia are my stars in the night

Yeah, we walked down the beach to our favorite song

Synesthesia playing, that's where we belong

We promised through the sickness, the rich and the poor

And you proved it in that room, giving me so much more

Dan, you take the lead when I'm too weak to stand

I'm so blessed to be holding my handsome man's hand
