Sue

We crossed paths outside that old Alviso store

You had a pit bull puppy waiting by the door

You called him Dule, and right then I could see

Just how kind and patient you could be

You've always got a hand for someone in the dark

With a love for every dog and a giving heart

Oh, Sue, I just want you to see

How much your friendship really means to me

You're patient and you're kind, always helping out

That's what a steady love is all about

Plans might change and the roads might bend

But I'll always be grateful for you, my friend

We made our plans to move up to Grass Valley

I was gonna pack my bags and keep you company

But life stepped in and turned the page around

So I just helped you move your boxes to that town

We loaded up the truck and drove the highway through

Because I'd do anything to help a friend like you

Oh, Sue, I just want you to see

How much your friendship really means to me

You're patient and you're kind, always helping out

That's what a steady love is all about

Plans might change and the roads might bend

But I'll always be grateful for you, my friend

The miles between us couldn't break the tie

We still catch up as the seasons pass us by

I make the drive to see you and the dogs you hold so dear

Whenever we're together, the distance disappears

Oh, Sue, I just want you to see

How much your friendship really means to me

You're patient and you're kind, always helping out

That's what a steady love is all about

Plans might change and the roads might bend

But I'll always be grateful for you, my friend
