Lisa briggs

I opened my eyes to the light of the earth

You stood by my side on the day of my birth

A sister to guide me, a hand I could hold

A story of kindness that gently unrolled

From my very first breath, you were already there

To wrap me in safety and cover with care.

Oh, Lisa, I want you to know what you mean

The truest of blessings my spirit has seen

With patience and laughter, with wisdom so bright

You fill up my days with a beautiful light

Forever my sister, forever beloved

A gift that was given from heaven above.

You carry a mind that is thoughtful and smart

And humor that comforts the heaviest heart

When I am in need of a grace that is true

I find a deep patience residing in you

Through valleys of shadow and mountains of sun

I thank the good Lord for the bond we have spun.

Oh, Lisa, I want you to know what you mean

The truest of blessings my spirit has seen

With patience and laughter, with wisdom so bright

You fill up my days with a beautiful light

Forever my sister, forever beloved

A gift that was given from heaven above.

I offer this song for the sister I love

Reflecting the grace of the Maker above

For Lisa Briggs, bearing a spirit of peace

My quiet thanksgiving will never decrease

I just need to tell you, before the day ends

You are my own family, my guide, and my friend.

Oh, Lisa, I want you to know what you mean

The truest of blessings my spirit has seen

With patience and laughter, with wisdom so bright

You fill up my days with a beautiful light

Forever my sister, forever beloved

A gift that was given from heaven above.
