Michael

We were just a couple kids with grass stains on our jeans

Playing every outdoor sport and building up our dreams

Running out the front door, racing to the street

We didn't need a stadium, just the dirt beneath our feet

Every afternoon was a brand new game to play

I wouldn't trade a single second of yesterday

Michael, you always know exactly what to say

You bring the kind of fun that chases the dark away

From the games we used to play to the man you are right now

You keep me smiling, brother, and I just want to tell you how

I love you more than all those miles we used to run

Yeah, having you beside me is my favorite kind of fun

It’s not just the memories of the scoreboards in our minds

It’s the way you crack a joke and leave the heavy stuff behind

You’ve got a certain way with words that always cracks me up

Pouring out the laughter like a never-ending cup

Even when the world is tough and the days are getting long

You come out with a line that puts me right back where I belong

Michael, you always know exactly what to say

You bring the kind of fun that chases the dark away

From the games we used to play to the man you are right now

You keep me smiling, brother, and I just want to tell you how

I love you more than all those miles we used to run

Yeah, having you beside me is my favorite kind of fun

We put away the baseball gloves and left the yard behind

But the bond we built out in the sun is the forever kind

I just want to make it clear, I want it to be known

I love you, brother, down to my very bones

Michael, you always know exactly what to say

You bring the kind of fun that chases the dark away

From the games we used to play to the man you are right now

You keep me smiling, brother, and I just want to tell you how

I love you more than all those miles we used to run

Yeah, having you beside me is my favorite kind of fun
