DeeDee

I still remember the minute the world changed

Looking at your face, nothing stayed the same

The day you were born, the clouds cleared out

Replaced all the worry, erased all the doubt

Tiny little hands, but you had this spark

A little beam of light stepping right through the dark

DeeDee, from the start, I knew you were a gift

You gave my whole spirit a permanent lift

Through every chapter, every turning page

No matter what we face, through every single stage

I want you to know, when push comes to shove

You are surrounded by an endless love

Yeah, DeeDee, remember when the shadows fall

You are loved, you are loved through it all

Now I watch you grow, and it blows my mind

How you stay so sharp, but you stay so kind

Got a sense of humor that can light up a room

Chasing out the gray, sweeping away the gloom

Wise beyond your years, yeah, you see the truth

Got an old soul wrapped in the magic of youth

Every time you laugh, it's a perfect melody

I'm so proud of the daughter you grew to be

Through every chapter, every turning page

No matter what we face, through every single stage

I want you to know, when push comes to shove

You are surrounded by an endless love

Yeah, DeeDee, remember when the shadows fall

You are loved, you are loved through it all

Time moves fast, the seasons keep shifting

But the bond that we got is forever uplifting

Even when we change, even when we grow

There is just one thing that you always gotta know

My heart is your home, wherever you go

Through every chapter, every turning page

No matter what we face, through every single stage

I want you to know, when push comes to shove

You are surrounded by an endless love

Yeah, DeeDee, remember when the shadows fall

You are loved, you are loved through it all
