Donnie

Just me and my little girl, she was only five

Starting over in a new place, learning to survive

I was older and a little scared to start anew

Then I looked across the street, and there was you

I asked for a little help out in the garden dirt

Soon we were just hanging out, laughing 'til it hurt

We became such good friends, having such a ball

I was hesitant at first, but you saw past it all

Donnie, you're my saving grace, I swear you wear a halo

We're laughing in the sunshine everywhere that we go

You always call me beautiful, you treat me like a queen

The kindest, most fun-loving man that I have ever seen

You saved me, babe, you brought me back to joy

My hero, my light, my forever cabana boy

We did everything together, tanning in the sun

Dyeing each other's hair, just living for the fun

The road trips and the parties, oh, the way you make me laugh

You walked into our little world and became our better half

My daughter loved you right away, and twenty years have passed

She still looks up to you, we're having such a blast

You're patient and you're handsome, so funny to the core

Every single day I wake up smiling even more

Donnie, you're my saving grace, I swear you wear a halo

We're laughing in the sunshine everywhere that we go

You always call me beautiful, you treat me like a queen

The kindest, most fun-loving man that I have ever seen

You saved me, babe, you brought me back to joy

My hero, my light, my forever cabana boy

Sixteen years of marriage, standing side by side

You gave me our miracle, our boy in two-thousand-nine

An amazing father, husband, and the truest friend I know

I love that we are growing old, I love watching us grow

You make loving you so easy, every day is fun

We're making happy memories here under the sun

'Cause Donnie, you're my saving grace, I swear you wear a halo

We're laughing in the sunshine everywhere that we go

You always call me beautiful, you treat me like a queen

The kindest, most fun-loving man that I have ever seen

You saved me, babe, you brought me back to joy

My hero, my light, my forever cabana boy
