Phoenix

I loved you long before you took a breath

I loved you long before I saw your face

But nothing could prepare me for the day

I finally held you in our quiet place

They handed you to me and time stood still

The tears were falling, I won't even lie

The most important day of all my life

Was looking at my daughter eye to eye

Oh, Phoenix, you're my beautiful girl

A funny, smart sweetheart who changed my whole world

From the moment I held you, I knew it was true

That everything led me right straight to you

Whenever you need me, no matter the track

I love you, Phoenix, to the moon and back

I watch you growing up and stand amazed

At all the clever little things you say

You have a heart of gold that shines so bright

You bring a special magic to the day

But even as you chase your biggest dreams

And walk down every new and winding road

I'll always think about that very first time

I took you in my arms and held you close

Oh, Phoenix, you're my beautiful girl

A funny, smart sweetheart who changed my whole world

From the moment I held you, I knew it was true

That everything led me right straight to you

Whenever you need me, no matter the track

I love you, Phoenix, to the moon and back

I loved you in the waiting before you were born

I'll love you through the midnight and into the morn

No matter how tall or how old you might get

That first time I held you, I'll never forget

Oh, Phoenix, you're my beautiful girl

A funny, smart sweetheart who changed my whole world

From the moment I held you, I knew it was true

That everything led me right straight to you

So keep on shining, no matter the track

I love you, Phoenix, to the moon and back

Yeah, I love you, my Phoenix, to the moon and back
