DJ

You studied the science of how a heart beats

From biochemistry to nursing degrees

We watched you put in the hours and the days

So proud of the man that we managed to raise

You carry a weight that most people don't see

But you always make time for this family

Oh DJ, we love you, no matter what comes

You’re our hero, our healer, our hardworking son

Every day that we share is a moment we prize

We see all the passion that shines in your eyes

You give and you give with a spirit so tough

But just being you will always be enough

When you have a spare moment, you don't take a rest

You put on your gear and you give them your best

Teaching the classes at Yaphank each week

To help out a stranger when futures look bleak

Then you jump in the Tahoe to answer a call

Down at the firehouse, you offer it all

Oh DJ, we love you, no matter what comes

You’re our hero, our healer, our hardworking son

Every day that we share is a moment we prize

We see all the passion that shines in your eyes

You give and you give with a spirit so tough

But just being you will always be enough

With your AEMT and the lives that you save

We stand here in awe of the path that you pave

You push yourself daily for people in need

But come on back home when it's time just to breathe

'Cause DJ, we love you, no matter what comes

You’re our hero, our healer, our hardworking son

Every day that we share is a moment we prize

We see all the passion that shines in your eyes

Keep running the Tahoe, keep answering calls

Just know that we're here to stand tall through it all

We love you, DJ, no matter what.
