Charles

We were walking the halls when the story began

Two high school kids in the palm of His hand

I didn't know then the depth of the grace

I would see every day looking into your face

Charles, you lead us with heavenly light

Keeping your eyes on the Savior in sight

Oh, it takes a made up mind to live for God

To walk in His truth and trust in His Word

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

A steady reflection of the Morning Star

Side by side, leaving shadows behind

Praising the King with a made up mind

When the seasons are heavy and the journey is long

Your patient spirit becomes my new song

You're loving and caring, a safe hiding place

Showing my heart the Father's embrace

You carry the cross in all that you do

I'm lifting my hands up to heaven for you

Oh, it takes a made up mind to live for God

To walk in His truth and trust in His Word

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

A steady reflection of the Morning Star

Side by side, leaving shadows behind

Praising the King with a made up mind

From the youth of our days to the rest of our years

Through the valleys of shadows, the triumphs, the tears

We're building a house on the rock, not the sand

Seeking His kingdom while holding your hand

You show me what true devotion can be

A beautiful witness for all heaven to see

Oh, it takes a made up mind to live for God

To walk in His truth and trust in His Word

I thank the Lord for the man that you are

A steady reflection of the Morning Star

Side by side, leaving shadows behind

Praising the King with a made up mind

Yes, we're walking together with a made up mind
