Teresa

Looking back at the days when we were small

Echoes of our childhood down the hall

More than just a sister right from the start

You were the very first friend to my heart

You always knew how to make the heavy things light

Walking beside me and making it right

You are the first one to help, the first one to care

Whenever I need you, you're already there

So giving and lovable, through all of our years

You share in my laughter and dry all my tears

Teresa, I count every blessing I see

When I think of the sister you are to me

I remember the Sundays, sitting side by side

In the quiet of the church, with our hearts open wide

Listening to the hymns and learning to pray

Building the faith that sustains us today

Your spirit is gentle, your love is so deep

These are the beautiful memories I keep

You are the first one to help, the first one to care

Whenever I need you, you're already there

So giving and lovable, through all of our years

You share in my laughter and dry all my tears

Teresa, I count every blessing I see

When I think of the sister you are to me

This life is a journey, but it isn't the end

I hold to the promise we're given, my friend

I can't wait for the day when the shadows divide

And we stand with our family on the other side

Together with Jesus, where the light never fades

Resting in the glory that Heaven has made

'Cause you are the first one to help, the first one to care

Whenever I need you, you're already there

So giving and lovable, through all of our years

You share in my laughter and dry all my tears

Teresa, I count every blessing I see

When I think of the sister you are to me

Until we are called to that heavenly sky

I'll cherish this life, till the other side
