Mark

Mark, you seek the quiet spaces where the spirit moves

Breathing in the healing leaf to calm a heavy mood

Sometimes the mirror looks back with a cold and doubting stare

And you question if the Lord can hear your silent prayer

But heaven knows the gentle heart that beats inside your frame

And the grace of God is calling out your name.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever would believe would see the battle won

So hear this truth, oh Mark, when the darkness builds a wall

You are worthy of the love that saves us all

Even when you cannot feel your worth at all.

You fought the hard-fought matches underneath the shining lights

Through the sweat and the struggle of those long and testing nights

In two thousand twenty-four, you stood up to claim

Your place in the Arkansas Wrestling Association Inc Hall of Fame

But the glory of that moment, and the cheering of the crowd

Is nothing to the holy voice that calls to you out loud.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever would believe would see the battle won

So hear this truth, oh Mark, when the darkness builds a wall

You are worthy of the love that saves us all

Even when you cannot feel your worth at all.

The ring was full of thunder, but your soul was made for peace

Let the doubting in your mind finally find release

Through the smoke that brings you comfort and the Word that brings you light

You are held inside His hands through the longest, coldest night.

You don't have to earn the blood that washes you so clean

Just rest beside the waters where the grass is growing green.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son

That whoever would believe would see the battle won

So hear this truth, oh Mark, when the darkness builds a wall

You are worthy of the love that saves us all

Yes, you are worthy—let the Holy Spirit fall.
