I remember the joy when each of you arrived

A home full of laughter, keeping memories alive

When cancer tried to take me, I bowed my head and prayed

To stay a little longer, and by His grace, I stayed

I lived to see David hold his first and second born

I thank the Lord for healing me and giving me this morn

Gordon and Sandra, you are anchored in my heart

I pray whatever comes our way, we’ll never be apart

I want to teach you how to love without the hurt

To find the grace of heaven here upon the earth

My love for you will last beyond the end of days

When Robert left this world to enter heaven’s gates

It clipped my wings and broke me, the heaviest of weights

I placed my silent sorrow in the hands of Jesus Christ

I held my head up high for you, and paid the hidden price

I never let you see me cry, I had to be your shield

I held my three remaining close so you could safely heal

If I hold on too tightly now, it’s only that I know

How fragile this whole life can be, how hard to let it go
