Tony

Twelve years ago, you walked with me

Right through the doors of Sandals Church

You didn't know what you would see

Or that it was the end of your search

I watched the Spirit touch your heart

He reached right down from up above

He set your brand new life apart

And wrapped you in His perfect love

Tony, you are a child of God

Held in a grace that has no end

He reached right down and touched your soul

A Father, a Savior, a Friend

Through every season, through the design

He whispers, "Child, you are mine."

Three weeks went by and Easter came

We stood together by the water's edge

You were forever changed in His name

Making a beautiful, eternal pledge

We stepped into the water there

And rose up in the morning light

An answered, quiet, hopeful prayer

That made your heavy spirit bright

Tony, you are a child of God

Held in a grace that has no end

He reached right down and touched your soul

A Father, a Savior, a Friend

Through every season, through the design

He whispers, "Child, you are mine."

We might have packed and moved away

But we never left that truth behind

We pull up the sermons online today

Keeping Sandals Church in our mind

The miles can't change what started then

The faith we share, the life we see

You're guided by His steady hand

Exactly where you're meant to be

Because Tony, you are a child of God

Held in a grace that has no end

He reached right down and touched your soul

A Father, a Savior, a Friend

He loves you deeply, by His design

He whispers, "Child, you are mine."

Yes, He whispers, "Child, you are mine."
