Mardie

I asked for your hand up on Pikes Peak

Your smile lighting up the crisp mountain air

A million fun, silly adventures since then

And there's nobody else I want there

You're brilliantly smart and you're beautifully kind

A survivor, redeemed and made new

Whenever the world gets too heavy to hold

My safe place to land is with you

Mardie, I'll love you till the end of time

With a Corinthians Thirteen kind of love

I won't walk in front, and I won't walk behind

I'm standing beside you, guided from above

You're my partner, my heart, and my home

With you, I will never walk alone

I watch how you hold little Lake in your arms

The most wonderful momma she'll know

You nurture our daughter with wisdom and grace

And I love watching both of you grow

You've got a big heart and a beautiful mind

So unique in the way that you care

Every room that you enter is brighter by far

Just because, my sweet Mardie, you're there

Mardie, I'll love you till the end of time

With a Corinthians Thirteen kind of love

I won't walk in front, and I won't walk behind

I'm standing beside you, guided from above

You're my partner, my heart, and my home

With you, I will never walk alone

God has such huge plans for you and for me

Jeremiah twenty-nine eleven is true

I'll trust and encourage whatever you dream

And pour all my belief into you

You're faithful and Godly, my anchor of peace

My love for you, darling, will only increase

Now we're sitting right here at your favorite spot

Watching the sunset paint gold on the lake

The water is glowing, but it cannot match

The beautiful life that we make

I'll hold onto your hand as the daylight fades out

And the stars start to shine in the blue

Forever and always, my safe place to land

Is right here, my sweet Mardie, with you

Mardie, I'll love you till the end of time

With a Corinthians Thirteen kind of love

I won't walk in front, and I won't walk behind

I'm standing beside you, guided from above

You're my partner, my heart, and my home

Standing beside you, I'm already home
