Matthew

It started with a profile on a glowing screen

A little leap of faith into the unseen

From a simple message to a hand to hold

Watching our beautiful story unfold

We drove away to the Virginia hills

For a honeymoon morning, quiet and still

I knew right then, looking in your eyes

That with you, every day is a new sunrise

Matthew, you're my shelter, my steady ground

The safest kind of love I have ever found

You walk with the Lord and you lead with grace

There is so much peace in your embrace

Through every adventure, whatever we do

I just want to say that I love you

I watch how you are when you're with the kids

You give them your heart in all that you give

A wonderful father, so patient and kind

Leaving the noise of the world far behind

You pray for our family and carry the weight

I thank God for the app that decided our fate

Matthew, you're my shelter, my steady ground

The safest kind of love I have ever found

You walk with the Lord and you lead with grace

There is so much peace in your embrace

Through every adventure, whatever we do

I just want to say that I love you

We're mapping out the unknown, hand in hand

Building a life exactly as we planned

From the very first click to the vows that we swore

I couldn't have asked the heavens for more

Matthew, you're my shelter, my steady ground

The safest kind of love I have ever found

You walk with the Lord and you lead with grace

There is so much peace in your embrace

Through every adventure, whatever we do

My beautiful husband, I love you
