Stacy

I've carried these pieces for most of my life

Through every goodbye and the edge of the knife

My heart has been broken time after time

But I never left my compassion behind

I kept right on caring when things fell apart

I stayed so faithful, I gave them my heart

Oh, Stacy, look at the woman you are

Still shining bright with a few heavy scars

You can do anything you put your mind to

There is a beautiful fire inside you

After the tears and the bridges you've crossed

You are worth it, no matter the cost

I always made sure that the people were safe

Giving them shelter and giving them grace

But now in the mirror, I'm meeting my eyes

Wiping the sorrow right out of the skies

It’s time to be faithful to me for a change

To love who I am and to turn a new page

Oh, Stacy, look at the woman you are

Still shining bright with a few heavy scars

You can do anything you put your mind to

There is a beautiful fire inside you

After the tears and the bridges you've crossed

You are worth it, no matter the cost

A lifetime of hurting could make someone cold

But I kept my spirit and I kept my soul

I'm taking the love that I gave to the rest

And holding it close to my own beating chest

Oh, Stacy, look at the woman you are

Still shining bright with a few heavy scars

You can do anything you put your mind to

There is a beautiful fire inside you

After the tears and the bridges you've crossed

You are worth it, no matter the cost

Yes, you can do anything you put your mind to

Stacy, you're worth it, you finally know it's true
