Frank “George”

Dust on a job site, hard at the grind

I took one look and said, "That one is mine"

From that very moment, we were never apart

You used your patient hands to build a home in my heart

Frank, they called you George, so generous and true

My whole world changed the day I found you

You were my protector, my safest place to fall

I never felt a single ounce of fear through it all

The absolute love of my life, my very best friend

You taught me how much you could love a person in the end

I'll miss you every morning, but our souls are tied together

I will love you, George, always and forever

I miss making your coffee just the way that you like

Working right beside you from the morning till night

I can still see you bowing, jamming out to a song

Laughing at nothing as the day carried on

I miss hearing your laugh ringing out through the room

But the light that you left me chases away the gloom

To anyone lucky enough, you were a steadfast friend

Honest and hardworking, right up to the end

And looking at our two sons, it's so easy to see

You were the absolute best dad that a father could be

You were my protector, my safest place to fall

I never felt a single ounce of fear through it all

The absolute love of my life, my very best friend

You taught me how much you could love a person in the end

I'll miss you every morning, but our souls are tied together

I will love you, George, always and forever
