Cynthia

Looking back at the days when we'd sit and play

Side by side in the band, letting the music sway

Such a brilliant musician, magic in your hands

With a sense of humor that I always understand

Cynthia, you're the one who keeps the rhythm true

Now I'm sending all my quiet thoughts to you

So take a breath, let the healing start

You’ve always given from a generous heart

I'm sending up a prayer for your quick recovery

To bring you back to the music, back to the melody

You’ve always lifted me up, now it’s my turn to say

I’m holding you in the light today

Whenever I stumbled or missed a beat in the song

You were the encouragement that helped me along

Always so supportive, with a spirit so bright

You know exactly how to make the heavy things light

Even when the tempo slows down to a pause

You’re still the one who deserves the applause

So take a breath, let the healing start

You’ve always given from a generous heart

I'm sending up a prayer for your quick recovery

To bring you back to the music, back to the melody

You’ve always lifted me up, now it’s my turn to say

I’m holding you in the light today

Every beautiful symphony needs a moment of rest

I know this quiet season is putting you to the test

But the song isn't whole when you're not around

I'm praying for healing to bring back your sound

So take a breath, let the healing start

You’ve always given from a generous heart

I'm sending up a prayer for your quick recovery

To bring you back to the music, back to the melody

You’ve always lifted me up, now it’s my turn to say

Cynthia, I’m holding you in the light today
