Zaddy Neil

I close my eyes and I thank the Lord

For the gentle way you keep my heart secure

Your leadership is a guiding grace

But there’s an empty space without your face

I miss the strength in the way you speak

The kind of devotion that makes me weak

Come back, Neil, my spirit is waiting

You are the love I'm always celebrating

My Zaddy Neil, you're the one I crave

The faithful husband that heaven gave

Lord, guide his steps where he’s meant to be

Come back, Neil, come back to me

My mind drifts down to the southern coast

Those Florida memories I hold the most

The ocean breeze and the open skies

But all I saw was the warmth in your eyes

We walked together, step by step

The sweetest moments my soul has kept

Come back, Neil, my spirit is waiting

You are the love I'm always celebrating

My Zaddy Neil, you're the one I crave

The faithful husband that heaven gave

Lord, guide his steps where he’s meant to be

Come back, Neil, come back to me

You lead our home with a steadfast faith

You are my shelter, my quiet, safe place

I’m lifting my hands as I start to pray

Asking the Spirit to speed up the day

I need my rock, I need my guide

I need my husband by my side

The house is still and the night is long

But the bond we share is so deep and strong

I’m holding on to the vows we made

In the light of God, they will never fade

Just counting the moments until you're through

My heart is anchored in Christ and you

So come back, Neil, my spirit is waiting

You are the love I'm always celebrating

My Zaddy Neil, you're the one I crave

The faithful husband that heaven gave

Lord, guide his steps where he’s meant to be

Come back, Neil, come back to me

Oh, come back, Neil, come back to me
