Ebonie and Faith

From the moment you took your very first breath

I held you so tightly right here to my chest

When you came out of me, I knew right then

I never wanted to let you go again

I still laugh at the funny things you used to do

Every little joke that made me smile at you

Nothing could ever stop me from loving you both

I thank the Lord as I witness your growth

Ebonie and Faith, my warm-hearted queens

Walking in grace, my makers of dreams

No matter what you do, my love is forever yours

I’ll protect you through the storms and the closing doors

Keep believing, let the Spirit pull you through

Mommy's got you, but God's got you too

Now my phone keeps ringing all through the day

You just call to hear what Mommy has to say

Talking 'bout life and where the journey goes

Looking for the answers that only heaven knows

You're patient and peaceful, bringing joy to the room

With a treasure inside you making everything bloom

Moving through the world, seeking out the light

Women of God, you are doing it right

Ebonie and Faith, my warm-hearted queens

Walking in grace, my makers of dreams

No matter what you do, my love is forever yours

I’ll protect you through the storms and the closing doors

Keep believing, let the Spirit pull you through

Mommy's got you, but God's got you too

Bring up a child in the way they should go

I planted the seed and I watched your faith grow

Honor your mother and father, stay strong

So your life on this earth will be beautiful and long

Keep believing in Him, no matter the test

My beautiful girls, you are heaven-blessed

Oh, Ebonie and Faith, my warm-hearted queens

Walking in grace, my makers of dreams

No matter what you do, my love is forever yours

I’ll protect you through the storms and the closing doors

Keep believing, let the Spirit pull you through

Mommy's got you to protect you, it's true

But most of all, God's got you too
