Nick

I pulled up to the Texas Roadhouse that night

You were sitting in your blue car in the light

You walked right up to my window, helped me out

Gave me a warm hug and chased away the doubt

I was so quiet, I was timid and so shy

But you never gave up trying, you didn't pass me by

Oh Nick, you are my shield when things are hard

My protective cover when I drop my guard

You're my sunshine when the sad days bring the rain

And my smile on the good days, through joy and pain

Happy birthday, Lovebug, hear the words I sing

To me and to this family, you are our everything

Six years together and the magic hasn't passed

You still give me butterflies, the kind that always last

Sometimes I catch myself just staring from afar

Smiling at the funny, wonderful man you are

You are my best friend and my soul mate all in one

With you, the sweetest chapters have begun

Oh Nick, you are my shield when things are hard

My protective cover when I drop my guard

You're my sunshine when the sad days bring the rain

And my smile on the good days, through joy and pain

Happy birthday, Lovebug, hear the words I sing

To me and to this family, you are our everything

Four amazing kids are running down the hall

Keeping us on our toes through it all

Two beautiful dogs who love you to pieces, too

They see the amazing father and husband in you

I love the life we're making, day by day

I wouldn't want it any other way

I can't wait to spend the rest of my life by your side

With my best friend and my partner on this ride

Oh Nick, you are my shield when things are hard

My protective cover when I drop my guard

You're my sunshine when the sad days bring the rain

And my smile on the good days, through joy and pain

Happy birthday, Lovebug, hear the words I sing

To me and to this family, you are our everything

Happy birthday, Lovebug, you are our everything
