Deuce

Deuce, I just sit back and smile when we speak

You have a spirit so bright and unique

With your quick sense of humor and loving heart

I’ve treasured who you are right from the start

It is such a joy just to watch you grow

And there is a promise I need you to know

Remember God said be strong and courageous

Do not be afraid when the seasons are changing

Hold onto the words that He spoke long ago

For He is right with you wherever you go

We sit by the screen as the anime plays

I could share these quiet moments for days

We pause it to talk of the big picture views

I love every second I'm talking with you

You're wise and you're thoughtful, beyond your own years

So step out in faith and let go of your fears

Remember God said be strong and courageous

Do not be afraid when the seasons are changing

Hold onto the words that He spoke long ago

For He is right with you wherever you go

The world can be heavy, the road can be wide

But you have the ultimate truth as your guide

When you are uncertain what tomorrow might bring

Just lean on His presence through everything

Remember God said be strong and courageous

Do not be afraid when the seasons are changing

Hold onto the words that He spoke long ago

For He is right with you wherever you go

Deuce, God is right with you wherever you go
