David

I remember the moment, the very first time

Our eyes locked together, and everything aligned

Didn't need a second guess, didn't have to wait

I saw my whole future standing right in that space

I whispered to myself, yeah, I understood

You were gonna be my husband, I just knew you would

There was a peace in the room, a shift in the air

An answer to a quiet, unspoken prayer

Oh, David, you are the calm in my soul

Patient and loving, you make me whole

The way that you care, it’s a beautiful thing

You give me a reason to smile and to sing

With every tender touch, you show me the truth

I found my forever when I found you

We walk in the light, we walk in the grace

Leaving the shadows in yesterday's place

Second Corinthians, five and seventeen

Shows me exactly what this journey means

The old has passed away, the past is undone

Look at us now, baby, the new has come

A brand new creation, a beautiful start

With you by my side and faith in our heart

Oh, David, you are the calm in my soul

Patient and loving, you make me whole

The way that you care, it’s a beautiful thing

You give me a reason to smile and to sing

With every tender touch, you show me the truth

I found my forever when I found you

You never rush me, you take your time

Your gentle spirit is so divine

Through every season, through every test

Your caring heart always gives me its best

A love so deep, a love so pure

With you, my darling, I am secure

Oh, David, you are the calm in my soul

Patient and loving, you make me whole

The way that you care, it’s a beautiful thing

You give me a reason to smile and to sing

The old is gone, the new has come true

I found my forever when I found you
