Bubba

I still remember that very first dawn

The beautiful morning the day you were born

I held you so close, so small and so new

And I promised my whole world to looking out for you

Now the years have rolled by like a fast-moving train

But the love in my chest has stayed exactly the same

Oh, Bubba, I look at the man you've become

I'm so proud to stand here and call you my son

You're handsome and funny, you're caring and kind

The best piece of my heart that I'll leave behind

I love you so much, and when all's said and done

I'm amazed by the wonderful man you've become

I've seen how you step up when push comes to shove

Showing the true meaning of what it is to love

The way you took care of your mama with grace

Brought a light to her eyes and a smile to her face

You didn't think twice, you just did what you do

That's the honest and beautiful spirit in you

Oh, Bubba, I look at the man you've become

I'm so proud to stand here and call you my son

You're handsome and funny, you're caring and kind

The best piece of my heart that I'll leave behind

I love you so much, and when all's said and done

I'm amazed by the wonderful man you've become

From a boy in the yard to the boots that you wear

You've always brought laughter and joy to the air

I just want to say it, and say it out loud

You've got a great heart, and you make me so proud

Oh, Bubba, I look at the man you've become

I'm so proud to stand here and call you my son

You're handsome and funny, you're caring and kind

The best piece of my heart that I'll leave behind

I love you so much, and when all's said and done

I'm amazed by the wonderful man you've become
