Tyree

I carried the secret deep in my soul

Before the rest of the universe could unfold

I loved you before the world even knew your name

And ever since then, I haven't been the same

You grew up so thoughtful, so incredibly smart

Leaving a permanent mark on my heart

Every step of the way, you've been a light in the dark

Tyree, you’re the reason I’m standing so tall

With your encouraging words, you won't let me fall

You’ve got a caring spirit, a protective shine

I thank the heavens that you are mine

The person I’ve become, the love that I show

Is all because you helped me grow

When life gets heavy, you bring in the sun

Always supportive, you're my number one

You speak with a kindness that's rare to find

A beautiful spirit, a brilliant mind

You look out for me, you keep me secure

Your love is an anchor, steady and pure

You give me a comfort that I can't ignore

Tyree, you’re the reason I’m standing so tall

With your encouraging words, you won't let me fall

You’ve got a caring spirit, a protective shine

I thank the heavens that you are mine

The person I’ve become, the love that I show

Is all because you helped me grow

They say a parent is supposed to lead the way

But you've been my guide, day after day

You lifted me up when my fire was low

You gave me the courage to change and evolve

I poured into you, but you filled up my cup

Whenever I doubted, you lifted me up

Tyree, you’re the reason I’m standing so tall

With your encouraging words, you won't let me fall

You’ve got a caring spirit, a protective shine

I thank the heavens that you are mine

The person I’ve become, the love that I show

Is all because you helped me grow

I loved you before the world knew your name

And I'll never, ever be the same
