Sister

You've been the one I lean on, my sister and my friend

A faithful heart of gold on which I always can depend

Through every twist and turn, you push me to go higher

Your encouraging words are the spark that feeds the fire

You inspire me to take a chance and try

No matter where the highway goes, no matter how we fly

You will always be my butterfly

We share an eternal bond that distance can't untie

Yeah, you will always be my butterfly

I still think about that road trip, the borders that we crossed

Illinois to Arizona, getting beautifully lost

With Maxx riding along, adventurous and free

Chasing down the desert sun, just you and him and me

I turned around and headed home, I didn't choose to stay

But the memories of that open road will never fade away

No matter where the highway goes, no matter how we fly

You will always be my butterfly

We share an eternal bond that distance can't untie

Yeah, you will always be my butterfly

The miles of open pavement couldn't pull our souls apart

You're a steady, faithful rhythm beating right here in my heart

Even though I headed back and let you spread your wings

I'll always be listening for the song my sister sings

No matter where the highway goes, no matter how we fly

You will always be my butterfly

We share an eternal bond that distance can't untie

Yeah, you will always be my butterfly

My sister, my friend, until the end of time

You will always be my butterfly
