Emma

I prayed for you before you took a breath

A perfect plan by God and by my heart

The moment of your birth, upon my chest

You smiled at me right from the very start

So happy and so pure, looking at me

The greatest blessing I will ever see

Oh Emma, your laugh can light up any room

But it shines the brightest deep inside of mine

God and I, we planned for you to bloom

A genuine and beautiful design

Never believe you're unworthy of His love

You are a holy blessing from above

I love to hear the stories of your day

You share your life with me when evening falls

And though you try to guard me in your way

You never have to build up any walls

It's not your job to keep me safe from harm

Just rest your spirit in your mother's arms

Oh Emma, your laugh can light up any room

But it shines the brightest deep inside of mine

God and I, we planned for you to bloom

A genuine and beautiful design

Never believe you're unworthy of His love

You are a holy blessing from above

I would sacrifice my very life for you

To give you everything that you deserve

I thank the Lord for making you so true

And for the tender spirit I observe

You were meant to be here on this earth

I've known it since the second of your birth

Oh Emma, your laugh can light up any room

But it shines the brightest deep inside of mine

God and I, we planned for you to bloom

A genuine and beautiful design

Never believe you're unworthy of His love

You are a holy blessing from above
