Scott

Thinking back to the days when our marriage began

The promises spoken, the life that we planned

Scott, you have always been gentle and kind

A quiet safe haven I’m lucky to find

We built our foundation on love and on trust

And now there's a new season waiting for us

So open the Word, let it light up the way

Pursue Him with passion, take a moment to pray

Rise up as the leader He built you to be

A shield of protection for our family

I know you have everything we'll ever need

When you lead us from your knees

The world can be heavy, the shadows can fall

But I see the man who can answer the call

To dive in the Bible and seek out His face

To cover our home in the strength of His grace

I want you to grow in the truth and the light

To stand as our watchman and guard us tonight

So open the Word, let it light up the way

Pursue Him with passion, take a moment to pray

Rise up as the leader He built you to be

A shield of protection for our family

I know you have everything we'll ever need

When you lead us from your knees

Your gentle heart is a beautiful thing

Now give it to God and see what it brings

Be the strong husband, the father, the guide

With Heaven above you and me by your side

Step into the calling, step into the fire

Let faith be the purpose that takes you up higher

And open the Word, let it light up the way

Pursue Him with passion, take a moment to pray

Rise up as the leader He built you to be

A shield of protection for our family

I know you have everything we'll ever need

Scott, lead us from your knees

Yeah, lead us from your knees
