Susie

I look at you and see the grace of God

A gentle spirit walking where He trod

Susie, you're the one who holds my heart

Patient with me right from the start

You never rushed the healing or the tears

Your loving kindness carried me through years

Oh, a mother’s love is a holy thing

A quiet shelter beneath a faithful wing

You are trustworthy, steady, and true

I see the light of heaven shining out from you

Susie, I thank the Lord above

For the blessing of my mother's love

When I needed someone I could lean upon

You were the promise of the coming dawn

You are the one who always understands

There is comfort in my mother's hands

You showed me what it means to safely trust

With a spirit that is patient, calm, and just

Oh, a mother’s love is a holy thing

A quiet shelter beneath a faithful wing

You are trustworthy, steady, and true

I see the light of heaven shining out from you

Susie, I thank the Lord above

For the blessing of my mother's love

"For God so loved the world He gave His only Son"

That whoever believes will see the kingdom come

You taught me we won't perish, but have eternal life

A promise that will carry us through the darkest night

John 3:16 is the word you live and breathe

The beautiful truth you helped me to believe

Oh, a mother’s love is a holy thing

A quiet shelter beneath a faithful wing

You are trustworthy, steady, and true

I see the light of heaven shining out from you

Susie, I thank the Lord above

For everlasting life, and my mother's love
